The company behind Oscar

Oscar is a small, early-stage company founded in 2025. We’re building property search that works for the buyer, and a discreet way for agents to reach the right one.

Why Oscar exists

  1. Told to a portal

  2. Told to another portal

  3. Told to an agent

  4. Told to another agent

“Three bedrooms, a garden, near a good primary”

Buyers repeat themselves

The same requirements go into several portals and get explained again to every agent. Some of the best homes never reach the open market, so you only hear about them if you know the right person.

Sellers want discretion

Agents have the opposite problem. The home stays off the open market, and the right buyer isn’t on the agent’s own list.

Oscar exists to connect the two, without taking control away from either.

Our mission

Give every buyer a brief they own, and give agents a discreet way to reach the right one.

Where Oscar fits

We don’t act for sellers, hold agents’ applicant lists or speak on an agent’s behalf. We build the buyer’s brief, then hand over to the selling agent.

Oscar is not

  • An estate agent
  • A buying agent
  • A listings portal

Your brief is yours

You decide what goes in it and who sees it.

Agents stay in charge

The selling agent decides who hears about a home and what they see.

The founders

Oscar brings together the two sides of property search: knowing what a buyer is really asking for, and building the technology they search with.

  • James Nightingall

    Co-founder and CEO

James has spent the last five years helping buyers find the right home, including ones that never reach the open market. He knows what matters in a brief, and what an agent needs before sharing a home privately.

  • Suleman Chikhalia

    Co-founder and CTO

Suleman has spent 19 years building consumer products, starting as one of the first engineers at Property Finder, the Middle East’s leading property portal. He knows how portals work from the inside, which is why Oscar starts with your brief rather than filters.
